This volume is bound in dark red leather, the top of the text block has been stained gilt. The paste-downs and end-pages are comprised from single sheets of marbled paper, Double Combed waved pattern. The front paste-down has 2 labels; On the top are "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" and "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". On the reverse of the title page is a circular black stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" in the centre. At the rear of the volume is a notes section and the contents pages. There is a thin green bookmark between pages 56=57.The head and tail bands are comprised of alternating red and yellow threads.
