Specimens of the Table Talk of Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Second Edition

This volume is fully bound in leather, with tooled leather boards and red mottling to the text block edges. The paste-down's and end-pages are comprised of dark brown paper. The front paste-down has 2 labels; On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in ink on the first blank page is a previous owners signature "J Rodgers 1840" which is difficult to read and written in ink on the top of the title page is "F. J. Raikes". Printed on the reverse of the title page is "London; Printed by A. Spottiswoode, New Street Square". Underneath this is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. Written in ink, at 180 degrees to the text block on the rear paste-down is "F.J. Raikes Milnthorpe". Sterne is mentioned on page 262
