The front paste-down has 2 labels; On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in pencil on the front free end-page is a previous owners signature "J.D. Sloan 1910". On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. The title piece is printed onto a paper label "The Novels of Sterne. Tristram Shandy and A Sentimental Journey".
