Alas, Poor Yorick! Being Three Hitherto Unrecorded Adventures in the Life of the Reverend Laurence Sterne, AB., Vicar of Coxwold in Yorkshire, etc., etc., Author of the Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gent.

This volume is bound in dark blue book cloth covered boards with a decorated paper cover which has itself been covered in plastic at a later date. Hardback. The front paste-down has 2 labels on the top left hand corner "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall". Written in pencil on the front paste-down is "01" and "9/3" and on the front free end-leaf "15-" and "Inscribed by author". The printed author's name on the title page has been crossed out by the author and signed underneath "alfred. H. Bill February 29.1928". Printed on the reverse of the title page is the circular black stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust" with "Shandy Hall Library" in the centre and the printers information above. Pasted onto the bottom left of the rear paste-down is a small turquoise label with "Brentano's Booksellers & Stationers. New York".
