The Life of Laurence Sterne by Percy Fitzgerald, M.A., M.R.I.A. With Illustrations from Drawings by the Author and Others. Volume I.

This volume is fully bound with an embossed/tooled green skiver (?). The pages of the text block have not been uniformly cut.On the front paste-down there are 3 labels; within the centre is a bookplate which has a decorative device underneath a crowned lion on top of an ermine plinth. Above and top left is "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the Laurence Sterne Trust, 1986". On the obverse of the front free end-page written in pencil top left is "24/1" (24 shillings). On the reverse of the title page is a circular ink stamp with "Laurence sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. On the rear paste-down, bottom left is a small label in green print "Bound by Bone & Son. 76 Fleet Street, London".
