This volume is fully bound in brown book cloth over boards, hardback. The front paste-down has 1 label pasted to the top left hand corner "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall". Written in pencil on the front free end-page is "2 Vols 9/- 6/-" the "9/-" has been crossed out. On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside and above this is printed the dedication. Written in pencil on the rear paste-down are various notes.
