This volume is fully bound in jade green book cloth over boards, hardback. The front paste-down has within the centre a large bookplate with the motto "Crescit Sub Pondere Virtus" and the name J.J. Chapman". There is also 1 label pasted onto the top left hand corner "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall". On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside and beneath this is printed printers information. Written in pencil to the foot of page 408 is "61" immediately under the printers information. Watermarks are obvious on the front and rear end pages "A Piri... and Sons". The title piece is comprised of a printed piece of paper pasted to the head of the spine with "Tristram Shandy By Sterne Vol.I. Large Paper". Number 85 of 150 Limited Edition. Volume is partially unopened.
