This volume is half marbled paper covered boards with blind-tooled leather points and spine decoration. The front paste-down are various booksellers marks/comments written in pencil. Printed on the reverse of the half title page is "J.Billing, Printer and Stereotyper, Woking. Surrey." The frontispiece is taken from the Reynolds portrait and is entitled "Laurence Sterne". The title page has an illustration of 'Maria' in the centre. To the front of the text is advertisments, contents, obituary, memoirs.
