A Sentimental Journey through France and Italy. The Fraser Press Edition.

This volume is fully bound purple leather covered boards, and the edges of the text block are gilded. The front and rear paste-downs and free end-pages are comprised of single sheets of marbled paper (possibly a Fantasy pattern base with Tiger eye type pattern spots?) The front paste-down has 1 label on the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall". Written in turquoise ink on the first blank page is "Presented to the Laurence Sterne Trust by Gordon Fraser". Printed on the reverse of the title page are the publishers and printers details and also the circular stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust, Shandy Hall" with "Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. Printed in gilt capitols on the leather which folds over onto the rear board is "A.W. Lumsden" in gilt capitols. He is a craft bookbinder.
