The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman. Volume I. The Second Edition.

This volume is bound in the original blue paper which appear to have been slightly modified; the rear covr is a darker blue, the spine is died brown and brittle and the front cover is partially broken and pasted onto the frontispiece, with what appears to be the front free end-page loose. Written by KM in pencil on the top of the front free end-page is "Dedic.n State 2. Plate State 1". On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp with "Laurence sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. The volume has the original blue paper binding, with missing rear cover and partial remains pasted onto the spine. There are illegible marks written in the 2nd panel on the spine.
