Farrago

This volume is fully bound in gold tooled dark green (morocco) leather covered boards with a gilt top edge to the text block. The end pages are comprised of single sheets of marbled paper (French Curl on Wide Comb Pattern). Written in ink on the reverse of the front free end-page is "april 23.1790. a copy of this book (exactly similar) sold at Leigh & Sotheby's for 1.18.0". The same hand has written "The Bibliopole shall dress up the Sparkler's Volume in the most courtly array. page 167" on the 2nd fly-leaf. There are notes in pencil underneath both of these inscriptions. Written in ink (same hand) on the title page is "S. Shipton". Also written in ink and on the rear 2nd fly is "Sothebys K+x". The catchword is to the bottom right of every page.
