This volume is bound in brown book cloth covered boards, a hollow-back hardback. The front paste-down has 2 labels; On the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in pencil on the top right of the first free end-page is "4 vols £12.00 set". The half title page has a small woodcut with "LS" within a floral style frame with "The Novels of Laurence Sterne. In Four Volumes. Vol. IV". The title page has a fancy cut/illustrated border with the volume title, author, illustrator and pulication details inside. Facing this is the frontispiece, which is entitled "The Dance at Amiens"; between this and the title page is a piece of protective tissue. On the reverse of the title page are the publication details as well as the circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "Shandy Hall Library" inside.
