This volume is fully bound in black cloth covered boards, with a green and cream paper cover. The front paste-down has 1 label on the top left side "From the Library at Shandy Hall". Printed on the title page (in a font which looks like handwriting) is "this the very first copy from the binder's is voor Kenneth & Julia with gratitude & Love from Jan & Gertrude Shandy Hall 17.11.90". Printed on the obverse of the title page is copyright information relating to the volume as well as the circular stamp with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" and inside "The Kenneth Monkman Collection". Facing page 156 is an engraving of Ttrim Reading the Sermon (second state) Hogarth.
