A collection of haiku by contemporary poets Billy Collins, Maura Dooley, Roger Keyes, students from Goldsmiths College, London and other creative writers. The poems are inspired by the species of moths photographed and identified from moth-trapping in the gardens at Shandy Hall, Coxwold and the Museum Gardens in York.

Students from Yamanashi Prefectural University, Kofu, Japan have translated the haiku into Japanese overseen by Professor Michiyo Takano and Mr Yasuaki Inoue.

Fully illustrated throughout, the book is published by the Laurence Sterne Trust in the hope that a wider audience will understand how remarkable, extraordinary and beautiful moths are and will assist a greater understanding of their usually invisible presence.

Observations / Transformations: A Moth Anthology (112 pages, spiral-bound, paperback 19.5cm x 14cm).

A Moth Anthology is supported by Arts Council England, York Museums Trust, University of York, John Bunting Foundation and Ronnie Duncan Art Foundation.
