The Sermons of Mr. Yorick. Volumes I and II

This volume is bound with marbled paper covered boards (French Curl on Wide Combed Pattern) with a leather covered spine. The front paste-down has 2 small white labels pasted onto the top left corner; "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall", underneath this is "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in pencil is "KM SYIbE" and "Vol. I oweing B, C, D". Underneath this is a previous owners signature, written in ink "C.L. Ricketts?". Written in ink on the front free end-page is "40.000, 19.740" with "4v0" in pencil in the top right corner. Written in pencil on the reverse of the front free end-page are further booksellers marks and " 2 vols in 1". Written in pencil on the title page of Vol II is "SY I-1a E". Stamped on the obverse of both the title pages is an ink stamp "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" in a circle with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside it. There is the same printers device in the centre of both the title pages, but volume 1 is darker than volume II. The catchword is to the bottom right of every page.
