The Works of Laurence Sterne, in ten volumes complete, 1783

Jane, sister of Thomas Thackeray Rennell, married in 1809 Admiral Sir John Tremayne Rodd KCB who died in 1838. The talented Lady Rodd devoted several years of her life to the labour of publishing her father’s current charts and revising new editions of his principal works. She died in December 1863.

Bookplate: The words ‘Lady Rodd / 1840’ encircled by a collar from which is suspended the neck badge of a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath

The book was purchased in 1986. The bookplate occurs in all ten volumes.
