Tristram Shandy by Brian Dettmer

Description

New York based artist Brian Dettmer was artist-in-residence at Shandy Hall from 17 September – 26 September 2014. During the residency he created a varnished paper sculpture for the collection using two Folio Society Editions of Tristram Shandy, gave four talks about his work in the Dining Room at Shandy Hall and also delivered a lecture at Victoria & Albert Museum about his practice.

Commissioned by The Laurence Sterne Trust, funded by Arts Council England. Signed and dated by the artist.

The sculpture is on permanent display in the Dining Room at Shandy Hall.
