Contemporary artwork by Brian Dettmer commissioned for the exhibition A Sentimental Journey at Shandy Hall, 2018, commemorating 250 years since the publication of Sterne’s novel. A 1948 edition of the novel, illustrated by B. Robb, has been treated by the artist by cutting the pages to reveal illustrations and text, then varnished. Signed.
